Skye Newman

Skye Newman brings her London-bred blend of rap, soul and pop to O2 Victoria Warehouse in Stretford on 7 November 2026. Raised between moves and tight budgets in the southeast of the city, she writes from ground level: everyday realities, shifting homes, and voices that rarely take centre stage. A jazz- and blues-singing aunt opened the door to studios and songcraft; later, echoes of Amy Winehouse, Adele, Bob Marley and Eminem shaped her palette without locking her into one lane. Her lyrics stay close to lived experience, sketching precise scenes and the way people carry them.

On stage, Newman keeps the focus on the story. She slips from conversational flows to sung refrains, trades vocal showboating for clean lines, and leaves space for words and dynamics. The set leans on warm, soul-tinged melodies, pared-down beats and small, elastic arrangements played by a tight circle of friends. Introspective pieces sit next to sharper, rap-inflected passages, with London details woven through. A direct, uncluttered performance where the writing leads and the emotion sits just beneath the surface.
