Yellow Days

Yellow Days, the project of George van den Broek, brings his lo-fi soul, psych-leaning R&B and indie rock to Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on May 9, 2026. Raised in Haslemere, he first surfaced with self-released tracks before Harmless Melodies (2016) and the track Gap in the Clouds set his gravelly voice against woozy keys and harmonies steeped in 60s/70s rhythm and blues. His debut Is Everything Okay in Your World? (2017) circled around tangled feelings and relationships, while A Day in a Yellow Beat (2020) widened the palette with fuller arrangements and more insistent grooves. Inner Peace (2023) tightened that hybrid approach, shaped between home-studio layering and live band sessions.

On stage, Yellow Days leans into the soul core: warm organ, elastic basslines, guitar vamps and a voice that cracks and stretches. Arrangements open up for improvisation, with grooves that drift then lock back into compact hooks. The set moves from slow-burners to punchier cuts and draws across his catalogue, keeping the edges loose without losing focus. A chance to catch the grain of his sound up close, carried by a band that lets the songs breathe.
