Bowling For Soup land at Scarborough Open Air Theatre in Scarborough on 2 July 2026. Formed in 1994 in Wichita Falls before settling in Denton, the Texan quartet has carved out a pop punk style built on punchy tempos, big choruses and wry storytelling about long teenage years, suburbia and pop culture. From the early 2000s surge through albums like A Hangover You Don’t Deserve to later cuts on Drunk Dynasty and Pop Drunk Snot Bread, the band lines up tight hooks, melodic guitars and lyrics that say things straight, with that knack for crowd-friendly call-and-response baked into their songs.
Also on the bill, Frank Turner brings his folk punk songwriting shaped by punk roots and acoustic drive. First known with post-hardcore outfit Million Dead, then solo from 2007, he shifts between intimate confession and social snapshots, backed by brisk rhythms and sturdy melodies honed with The Sleeping Souls. Records like England Keep My Bones, Tape Deck Heart, FTHC and Undefeated trace a path that moves from bare acoustic punch to full-band uplift, the kind that turns a set into a shared singalong without losing the grit of the writing.
