Nu Genea

On 25 July 2026 at the Piccolo Parco Urbano in Bagheria, Nu Genea will appear in a Live Band format with a set that intertwines Neapolitan grooves, disco, boogie and afrobeat. The project of Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina, born in Naples in 2014 as Nu Guinea and renamed Nu Genea in 2021, the duo has transformed its house and minimal roots into a more organic approach: percussion up front, warm bass lines, vintage-flavored keyboards and vocals in Italian and Neapolitan. On stage the lineup expands and the pieces take on full shape with brass, percussion and choirs, balancing club attitude with Mediterranean orchestration. The setlist features tracks from Nuova Napoli and Bar Mediterraneo, alongside numbers like Marechià and nods to their work with Tony Allen recounted on The Tony Allen Experiments. Nu Genea also brings the curatorial eye developed through Napoli Segreta, mixing references to local tradition with new funk directions, for a live show that embraces concert, dance and club culture.
