Mélissa means "bee" or "bright flame" in Greek. And, as if by chance, bees have been a recurring theme throughout the writing of this album. "At my softest, I am most dangerous" offers a haunting indie-pop proposition in which the psychedelic fingerpicked arpeggios of the electric guitars played by Cavard and Laveaux answer one another, echoing 1970s Latin rock as well as the modern pop of Sherwyn, Young Fathers, or even Martina Topley-Bird. Particular attention was paid to the lead vocals and the choirs to portray the various spirits encountered along the journey. Best experienced live.
