Zoufris Maracas

Zoufris Maracas shake up French chanson with traveling refrains and lyrics that look closely at the world. Born from Vin’s and Micho’s wanderings between Niger and Burkina, the band cut their teeth in the Paris metro before multiplying stage appearances and asserting themselves on the alternative scene. Four albums, hundreds of concerts and a style all their own: tackling serious subjects to rhythms that make you move. Colorful guitars, brass, percussion and touches of rumba, cumbia and reggae feed a poetry of defiance, often compared to Mano Negra or Les Négresses Vertes.

On October 30, 2026, they will set down their suitcases at Le Transbordeur in Villeurbanne. On the bill is a live show that blends social commentary, sing-along choruses and cross-cultural pulses. The set navigates between ballad and rhythmic explosion, carried by unifying choirs and arrangements cut for the stage. Dancing while listening to the world as it is—that is the band’s guiding line, which turns each concert into a collective journey, between popular dances, African stopovers and an intentionally off-kilter swing.
