Joshua Idehen

On December 9, 2026, at Petit Bain (Paris), Joshua Idehen showcases his art at the intersection of spoken word, contemporary jazz and electronic pulses. A poet and British vocalist of Nigerian origin, now based in Sweden, he first came to prominence with Benin City before going on to numerous collaborations. His writing and voice have been heard with Sons of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming, both Mercury Prize nominees, as well as alongside Daedelus and LV, where his spoken delivery is woven into loose house and broken-beat structures.

With “Don’t You Give Up On Me,” his first poetic solo single, Idehen issues an appeal for a little more patience toward others and toward oneself. This more introspective vein runs through his recent releases, from Learn To Swim (2021) with Swedish producer Ludvig Parment to the EP Mum Does The Washing (2024). On stage, he articulates text, cadence and jazz-tinged arrangements, blending everyday observations, social reflection and personal narratives in a format that brings spoken performance, concert and club culture into dialogue.
