The HU

On 6 October 2026, The HU bring their Hunnu rock to 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin, blending throat singing, traditional Mongolian instruments and heavy, driving riffs. Formed in Ulaanbaatar in 2016, the band broke through with the 2018 tracks Yuve Yuve Yu and Wolf Totem, then defined their sound on debut album The Gereg in 2019: guttural vocals, collective chants and steppe-inspired melodies framed by amplified rock. Rumble of Thunder in 2022 pushed the heavier edge and anchored their music within contemporary metal and hard rock circuits. Along the way, collaborations with Serj Tankian and Jacoby Shaddix broadened the palette while keeping the core intact.

On stage, The HU align traditional timbres with modern distortion, locking grooves and call-and-response vocals into songs that move between ritual pulse and rock crunch. In Dublin, the set leans into both albums and the breakout singles, tracing a direct line between Mongolian heritage and today’s amplified sound.
