Dan Whitlam

Dan Whitlam brings his spoken word meets alternative rap to The Academy, Dublin, on 18 October 2026. From South London, he writes about ordinary lives, the uneasy step into adulthood and wider social issues, climate anxiety included. On stage, his soul-tinged voice and pliant cadence carry narrative pieces that hover between poem and flow, set on pared-back hip-hop rhythms.

First noticed through short videos where he voiced twenty-something stories with flexible phrasing, he then moved onto London stages for readings and hybrid shows, with broadcasts on BBC Radio. A run of UK and European dates followed in 2025. In February 2026 he released Strangers (Again), a debut album that folds introspection and social observation into concise tracks built around clarity of text and steady grooves.

Also active as an actor, with appearances in Trigger Point, A Discovery of Witches and the stage production 10 Reasons Why, Whitlam treats performance as an extension of the writing. In Dublin, he lines up a set that shifts between spoken confession and measured rap, attentive to detail and to the moment.
