Culture Wars bring their sharp-edged indie rock to Vienna on July 21, 2026 at Szene Wien. Based in Austin, the five-piece formed around singer and guitarist Alex Dugan with David Grayson, Dillon Randolph, Caleb Contreras and Josh Stirm. The band works a tight, direct sound where nervy guitars, firm rhythms and pop-leaning melodies lock together, drawing on new wave and post-punk for tension and momentum without getting stuck in one lane. First noticed through a run of singles and the EP teche, Culture Wars has since pushed beyond the Texas circuit, building an audience across alternative channels in the US. On stage, they play the balance that defines their tracks: pulse-driven grooves, expressive vocals and clean hooks, written to hit straight without theatrics. Expect a set that threads their early cuts with newer material, switching between pressure and release, and keeping the focus on economy, dynamics and a chorus that lands.
