On December 12, 2026 at History Ottawa in Ottawa, Wolf Parade brings its Montreal-born indie rock to the stage. Built around Spencer Krug, Dan Boeckner and Arlen Thompson, the band navigates angular guitars, saturated keys and tight rhythms, with vocals shared between Krug and Boeckner. From Apologies to the Queen Mary through At Mount Zoomer and Expo 86, then Cry Cry Cry and Thin Mind, their catalogue shifts from tense, post-punk shades to compositions anchored in piano and synths. Live, that palette moves between nervy hooks, looping motifs and melodies that open up without losing edge.
Sharing the bill, Destroyer is Dan Bejar’s long-running project, a shape-shifting approach to art-rock and pop with lyrics that favor oblique storytelling. Bejar’s deadpan delivery threads through arrangements that can turn sleek or rough around the edges depending on the era, leaving space for recent material alongside staples from the catalogue. A double bill that brings together two distinct paths from the Canadian indie scene, with songwriting and textures that keep evolving on stage.
