Vundabar aligns an indie rock sound built on crisp, saturated guitars, sitting between nervy surf, bursts of math rock and a post‑punk spirit. Born in high school around Brandon Hagen (guitar, vocals) and Drew McDonald (drums), and later joined by Zack Abramo on bass, the band cut its teeth on the DIY scene in Boston and western Massachusetts, playing everything from living rooms to small clubs before widening its reach. Live, the trio trades on contrasts: clear melodies, sharp angles, lo‑fi grain and dynamic shifts that keep the tension taut.
Opposite them, Yot Club, the project of American Ryan Kaiser, serves up lo‑fi indie pop with bright guitars, straightforward rhythms and hushed vocals — somewhere between reverie and prosaic everyday life. Buoyed by the viral single “YKWIM,” he uses his third album, Simpleton, to cast a clear‑eyed glance at the sanitized imaginings of American suburbia, without sacrificing melodic hooks.
Vundabar and Yot Club share the same bill on September 19, 2026 at the Trabendo in Paris. Two complementary facets of the same indie terrain, between electric tension and dreamlike haze.
