Les musiques de John Williams et Hans Zimmer

On February 4, 2027 at 7:30 PM at the Grand Rex, the symphonic concert "The Music of John Williams and Hans Zimmer" presents a new program. On the bill: Interstellar, Jurassic Park, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, Inception, Star Wars, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The film scores will be performed live by more than 70 musicians on stage, under the direction of conductor Nicolas Simon, with the Yellow Socks Orchestra, a French symphonic orchestra specialized in film music.

John Williams, composer and orchestrator, has left an indelible mark on film music since the 1970s. The longtime composer for Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, he wrote the scores for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws and Indiana Jones. His melodic themes helped bring the symphony orchestra back to the forefront of cinema. Winner of 5 Academy Awards and nominated 54 times, his work spans generations.

Hans Zimmer has developed an approach that blends traditional orchestration with electronic sonorities. His collaborations with Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar) and Ridley Scott (Gladiator) have left a strong imprint on contemporary cinema. A two-time Academy Award winner, he is known for creating immersive sonic atmospheres.

This concert honors the music of Hans Zimmer and John Williams. The composers will not be present on stage. The Yellow Socks Orchestra will perform the works in concert under the baton of Nicolas Simon.
