New program. On March 14, 2027 at 4:00 PM at the Zénith in Dijon, The Music of John Williams and Hans Zimmer in Symphonic Concert returns with a program dedicated to film scores. On the program: Interstellar, Jurassic Park, The Dark Knight, Harry Potter, Inception, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean. These pieces will be performed by more than 70 musicians on stage.
Under the direction of conductor Nicolas Simon, the Yellow Socks Orchestra, a French symphonic orchestra specialized in film music, will perform works by John Williams and Hans Zimmer in concert.
John Williams, the regular composer for Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, has left a mark on film music since the 1970s. He wrote the scores for E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, and Indiana Jones. Honored with 5 Academy Awards and 54 nominations, his work spans generations.
Hans Zimmer, a German-born composer who became an American citizen, renewed film music by blending orchestral writing with electronic sonorities. His collaborations with Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar) and Ridley Scott (Gladiator) have left a strong imprint on contemporary cinema. He has been awarded 2 Academy Awards.
For nearly two hours, the concert offers a journey through these iconic scores.
The composers will not be present on stage. Their works will be performed by the Yellow Socks Orchestra under the direction of Nicolas Simon.
Nicolas Simon has been principal conductor of the Orchestre de Caen since 2020. He is the founder and musical director of La Symphonie de Poche and Philharmonicoeur, associate conductor of the orchestra Les Siècles, and conductor of the Démos project.
The Yellow Socks Orchestra is a French symphonic orchestra specializing in film music, founded in 2015 and led musically by Nicolas Simon.
