Mekdes Akustisk

On 5 March 2027, Mekdes brings an acoustic set to Nygadehuset in Aabenraa, Denmark. The Danish–Ethiopian singer, songwriter and producer has built a sound between neo-soul, pop and R&B, with songs shaped around her voice, clean melodies and understated arrangements. In this unplugged format, that balance comes forward: fewer layers, more space for phrasing, harmonies and lyrics that trace identity, relationships and change.

Since emerging online at the end of the 2010s, Mekdes has moved from DIY sketches to a confident catalog, from the Fly EP to the album Greedy and, most recently, The Boy I Am. Live, she tends to rework her tracks with guitar or keys, soft percussion and vocal textures, keeping the pulse while letting the songwriting lead. Expect a set that threads older favorites with newer material, reframed with a warmer, more direct feel. An evening focused on clarity, groove and storytelling, carried by a voice that prefers precision over ornament and lets the songs speak for themselves.
