On 4 July 2026, Tivoli Friheden in Aarhus, Denmark welcomes four bands from the Danish rock scene: D-A-D, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, Sort Sol and The Raveonettes. A night that moves between hard‑driving riffs, alternative textures and noise‑pop melodies.
D-A-D, formed in early‑80s Copenhagen as Disneyland After Dark, a.k.a. D-A-D, passed from cowpunk sparks to a more melodic hard rock. Around Jesper Binzer, Jacob “Cobber” Binzer, Stig Pedersen and Laust Sonne, the band stacks tight riffs and straight choruses, drawing on a catalogue that runs from No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims and Riskin’ It All to A Prayer for the Loud.
Dizzy Mizz Lizzy brings Tim Christensen, Martin Nielsen and Søren Friis in a power‑trio format. Their sound balances dense, melodic guitars and a grunge‑tinged edge, with material spanning the self‑titled debut and Rotator through Forward in Reverse and Alter Echo, including broader, sometimes progressive arcs.
Sort Sol, born as Sods at the turn of the 80s, shifted from abrasive punk toward a more exploratory alternative rock. Around Steen Jørgensen’s deep voice, the band builds stark atmospheres and melodic undercurrents, linking the tension of Minutes to Go and Under en sort sol to Flow My Firetear, Glamourpuss and Stor Langsom Stjerne.
The Raveonettes, the duo of Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo, fuse reverb‑charged guitars, minimalist songwriting and close vocal harmonies. From Chain Gang of Love and Pretty in Black to Lust Lust Lust and Observator, their live dynamic leans on sharp hooks and hazy textures.
