Edwin Raphael brings his intimate indie-folk/alternative-pop world to X‑Tra in Zürich on 26 May 2026. The Montreal-based singer-songwriter, with roots in India and stints in Dubai, writes pared-down songs featuring a close vocal, delicate guitars and floating textures bordering on dream pop. Since the mid-2010s he has released music in a DIY spirit and established himself in the independent scene. The debut album Will You Think of Me Later? (2020) collects his introspective songs about identity, distance and memory. The collaborative EP Staring at Ceilings (2021) broadens the sonic palette, while Warm Terracotta (2023) foregrounds more contemplative moods.
On stage, Edwin Raphael translates these pieces into clear, calm arrangements — solo or with a band — where voice and atmosphere set the tone. Between folk storytelling and finely measured electronics emerges a restrained sound-world that relies on nuance and timing.
