BALTHVS heads to Lee’s Palace in Toronto on Monday, July 20, 2026. Formed in Colombia, the trio of Balthazar Aguirre (guitar, voice), Johanna Mercuriana (bass) and Santiago Lizcano (drums) sculpts a live sound where grooves lead the way. Their set pivots between psychedelic funk and psych rock, folds in Latin pulses, brushes of spiritual jazz and modal lines inspired by the Middle East. Patterns circle and evolve by subtle shifts and measured improvisations, with bass, guitar and drums moving as one unit. On stage, it’s less about solos than about momentum, a hypnotic flow that keeps building and breathing.
Pearl & The Oysters completes the bill with a Franco‑American pop laboratory shaped by Juliette Pearl Davis and Joachim Polack. From Paris to Gainesville to Los Angeles, the duo has honed a chamber‑pop approach tinged with indie, synth‑pop and dream pop, fed by soft‑rock contours and light jazz inflections. Think airy keyboards, close harmonies and melodies crafted with care, songs that favor concision and floating atmospheres over excess. Their retro‑futurist touch and gentle electronics offer a bright counterpoint to BALTHVS’s trance‑like drive, two palettes meeting on the same stage at Lee’s Palace.
