Uriah Heep - The Magicians Farewell Tour

On 24 October 2026 Uriah Heep will play The Magicians Farewell Tour at PHIL in Haarlem. The London band, which emerged from Spice in 1969, has been forging since the early 1970s a distinctive blend of hard rock and prog: muscular guitar lines, a propulsive Hammond organ and multi-part harmonized choruses. Around guitarist Mick Box, the constant presence since the beginning, Uriah Heep found its shape on albums such as Salisbury, Demons and Wizards and The Magician’s Birthday, where epic pieces, melody and acoustic breathing space alternate. In the 1980s their approach sometimes shifted toward more direct hooks without relinquishing the choral vocals and the organ, a thread that runs through to Chaos & Colour (2023).

On stage this evening the emphasis will be on that legacy: material that defined their early signature alongside more recent work, played with the familiar interplay of power and melody. The Magicians Farewell Tour nods to their classic period and marks a final run with the band in its current incarnation. In Haarlem, then, the past and present of British hard rock come together, with a focus on song, harmony and organ tone.
