On 14 November 2026 at La Belle Electrique in Grenoble, Zentone brings together Zenzile and High Tone, two leading acts of the French dub scene that emerged in the late 1990s. Zenzile, from Angers, approaches dub through the punk-rock side of English models steeped in Jamaican sonorities, from The Clash and The Specials to The Ruts. High Tone, from Lyon and born of the fusion scene, has taken the electronic turn. Conceived as a shared space, Zentone puts their methods into dialogue: layered construction, improvisation and real-time sound work. On stage, the two entities intersect organic rhythms, delays and electronic textures for a collective output conceived as a sound system.
Joe Yorke, singer, producer and composer, roots his trajectory in an adolescence steeped in reggae and punk, before the revelation of the UK sound system scene. His music rests on solid rocksteady and Jamaican dub foundations, while also opening onto soul, folk and dub-techno influences. Between melodic songwriting and a sense of riddim, he links live practice and sound system culture to produce an aesthetic that continues the British tradition while remaining open to cross-pollination.
