Oakland’s Souls of Mischief bring the Hieroglyphics spirit to twotwotwo in Oshawa on July 24, 2026. A-Plus, Phesto, Opio and Tajai forged a style built on jazz- and funk-tinged samples, elastic flows and relay-style verses that click into place. Since the breakout 93 ’til Infinity, they’ve carried the Bay Area lineage with writing that stays clear and musical, from No Man’s Land to There Is Only Now, made with Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad.
On stage, the quartet focuses on interplay: voices weave, hooks rise from dusty textures, and the groove sets the pace. Expect signature cuts, deep tracks and a few Hiero favorites, stitched together with tight transitions and call-and-response the group has honed over years on the road. Special guests are set to join, keeping the cipher open and the energy moving.
