On October 7, 2026, at Patronaat in Haarlem, the Swedish trio Monolord puts its slow, heavy and melodic doom at the center. Since 2013 the Gothenburg band has forged saturated riffs and a thick bass foundation into songs in which the vocals tend to float rather than push. From Empress Rising and Vænir via Rust and No Comfort to Your Time to Shine: the line is clear, with increasingly tightly written songs that never lose their breathing room and tension. Live, Monolord seeks a balance between repetition, tension and melody: long builds that swell steadily alongside more compact, direct pieces, all delivered with an organic, slightly hazy sound.
Special guest Dopelord from Lublin works in the same domain: doom fed by stoner, sludge-like slowness and dark psychedelia. The Polish outfit builds on massive riffs, stretched tempos and an aesthetic full of occult nods and cannabis culture. From Magick Rites and Black Arts, Riff Worship & Weed Cult to Children of the Haze and Sign of the Devil, up to Songs for Satan (2023), the structures tighten while the texture remains raw. On stage it’s about trance through repetition and weight, with low, gravelly vocals and layers stacked closely together.
