Placebo - 30th Anniversary Tour

On 12 October 2026, Placebo’s 30th Anniversary Tour stops at the Quarterback Immobilien Arena in Leipzig. Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal founded the band in the mid‑’90s in London, initially under the name Ashtray Heart. Their self‑titled debut was released in 1996; with 'Come Home' they early on reached international stages, and David Bowie took Placebo on as a support act. In the years that followed the drummers changed, but the Molko/Olsdal axis remained and shaped a sound between alternative rock, dark pop and electronic textures. Albums such as Sleeping With Ghosts and, later, Loud Like Love mark milestones that still shape the repertoire; collaborations with Depeche Mode and U2 were added. For the anniversary the band opens its archive and will play material from all phases – from the early, rougher tracks to later, more atmospheric pieces. Live, Brian Molko’s voice and Stefan Olsdal’s riffs take centre stage, carried by the touring band. Three decades of Placebo, on one stage in Leipzig.
