Info
On August 15, 2026, Deep Purple brings its hard rock blueprint to Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, with a set shaped by thick guitar riffs, Hammond organ lines and vocals that have defined the band since the late 1960s. From the In Rock, Machine Head and Fireball era to their later chapters, the group moves easily between high‑octane tracks and expansive pieces, with Smoke on the Water, Highway Star or Child in Time as fixed points in a catalogue that keeps evolving on the road and in the studio.
Special guest Kansas adds a US take on progressive and melodic rock, built on guitars, keyboards, stacked harmonies and that signature violin. Formed in Topeka in 1973, the band balanced long-form compositions with concise songs through albums like Song for America, Leftoverture and Point of Know Return, then pushed into a more direct rock approach without losing its progressive thread, right up to recent releases such as The Prelude Implicit and The Absence of Presence.
Also on the bill, Jefferson Starship connects San Francisco’s countercultural roots to a polished, radio-ready sound. Emerging in the mid‑70s from the Jefferson Airplane lineage, the group crossed folk rock, pop rock and psychedelia before steering toward a structured, AOR‑leaning style. Decade after decade, Jefferson Starship has kept a live momentum, carrying a repertoire that spans several phases of West Coast rock.
