Daniel Wang

Daniel was born in Oakland, California, and spent eight years of his childhood in Taipei. He went to university near New York and was influenced by the house music and the "disco classics" he heard in the early 1990s at parties with DJs like Tee Scott, François Kevorkian and Danny Krivit. He lived in downtown Manhattan from 1994 to 2003 and worked for five years at a synthesizer shop there, a job that became an apprenticeship in the music he loves.

After releasing about ten 12" records on his own Balihu label, he used his knowledge to produce three EPs for the Environ label of Morgan Geist (aka Metro Area and Storm Queen). From 2001, Daniel began to travel and perform more in Europe and in Japan. He moved to Berlin in 2003, which offered him new chances to learn and to perform for diverse audiences, from Horse Meat Disco to festivals in London and Paris, at intimate venues from Tokyo to Helsinki, from Dublin to São Paulo. His DJ sets blend disco, soul, and old and new house tracks.

Balthazar Martinez

Originally from France and based in Berlin for over a decade, Balthazar is known for his wide-ranging record collection and groove-driven sets. He is running The Get Down, an event series and radio show he co-hosts alongside Mandel Turner.
