Roméo & Juliette

On 12 May 2028 at the Zénith de Lille, Roméo & Juliette, the musical by Gérard Presgurvic, returns to the stage. Born in 2001, the work has toured numerous countries and has become part of French pop with its signature songs, from Les Rois du monde to Aimer. Carried by a contemporary cast, it reenacts the meeting of two teenagers caught in the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets, and poses a simple, direct question: how far are we willing to go for love?

This version preserves the musical DNA and the major scenes that defined the show’s identity, while reinventing them with a renewed cast, new costumes and a redesigned staging. The imprint of the original performers, including the duo Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara, continues to run through the score and inspires the artists who take over. Between pop and lyricism, choruses and ensemble scenes, the original soundtrack rediscovers its live energy and brings several generations together around a timeless story. It is a comeback that looks to the future without losing what made Presgurvic’s work so powerful.
