Celtic Legends

Celtic Legends celebrates its 25th anniversary by putting Irish dance back at center stage. On 18 March 2027 at the Zénith de Dijon, the company brings together dancers, musicians and singers for an entirely live performance that sets percussive footwork in dialogue with traditional music.

Conceived by choreographer Jacintha Sharpe, the pieces alternate between precise group choreographies and percussive solos, sustained by the energy of reels and jigs as well as by calmer ballads. On the musical side, five instrumentalists led by Sean McCarthy maintain the pulse and dynamics with uilleann pipes, penny whistle, fiddle, bodhrán and guitar. With no backing track, everything is performed live, preserving the acoustic grain and the tempo of the striking steps, faithful to the Celtic folk aesthetic the project has championed since the early 2000s.

Born on tour and honed on major stages, the ensemble retains a compact format and a direct approach in which the dialogue between dance and music remains central. It is an opportunity to explore, live, a repertoire drawn from Irish traditions and conceived specifically for the stage.
