Luc Langevin - L'illusionniste

On February 13, 2027, at Amphithéâtre 3000 in Lyon, Luc Langevin unveiled a new grand illusion show, created hand in hand with his longtime collaborator, magician Stéphane Bourgoin. On stage he strings together bespoke pieces, where precise writing, lighting and music compose a playground for blurring familiar reference points. The common thread is the duality between head and heart, a back-and-forth between logic and unease that gives each routine a clear narrative line. Here, the staging guides the viewer’s gaze, the mechanics of the effects remain discreet, and the illusion takes precedence without excess. Langevin constructs a world from scratch to keep reality at a distance, with large-scale apparatus, controlled rhythms and a meticulous attention to detail in service of the story. The format is designed to let the magic operate in the present—between wavering perception, an embraced doubt, and the pleasure of allowing oneself to be drawn into the game.
