Celtic Legends

At Bocapole in Bressuire, on April 12, 2026, Celtic Legends returns with a new edition of its show blending Irish music and dance. Conceived in Galway, in the heart of Connemara, the project brings together five acoustic musicians under the direction of Sean McCarthy and twelve dancers led by Jacintha Sharpe. On stage, percussive footwork, group choreography and solos interact live with a set in which reels, jigs and ballads answer one another, alternating between frenetic bursts and melodic respites.

The aesthetic remains faithful to tradition while embracing tight arrangements and precise rhythmic writing. The atmosphere draws on the energy of a traditional pub session: exchanges, percussive accents, variations and build-ups driven by the live music. Since the early 2000s, the show has toured the globe and has attracted nearly three million spectators, without losing its Irish grounding.

This 2026 incarnation emphasizes the dancers’ percussive playing, the subtlety of transitions and the ensemble’s dynamic, delivering two hours that traverse Celtic culture—from the lands of Connemara to the wooden dance floor—in a constant back-and-forth between stage and tradition.
