La Ruda

On December 4, 2026, La Ruda will be appearing at L’Empreinte in Savigny-le-Temple. Formed in Saumur in 1993 under the name La Ruda Salska, the band is part of the French alternative rock scene, combining ska with guitars and brass at the forefront. With Pierrot on vocals, the lineup established a direct, collective sound—first on Le Prix du silence (1996) and L’Art de la joie (1999), then with lyrics brought more to the fore on Passager du réel (2001) and a rock-leaning turn with 24 images/seconde (2004). From La Trajectoire de l’homme-canon (2006) to the acoustic reinterpretations of Les Bonnes Manières (2007), and on to Grand Soir (2009) and Odéon 10-14 (2011), La Ruda has maintained an identity that blends a solid rhythm section, brass and catchy melodies.

On stage, the band relies on the effectiveness of its ensemble playing and a French-language repertoire that spans all its periods, from ska-marked beginnings to more rock-oriented directions. This stop in Savigny-le-Temple highlights once again the ska-rock mix that has accompanied La Ruda since the start, with arrangements designed for live performance and a collective energy driven by the brass.
