Keziah Jones

Keziah Jones arrives at La Belle Électrique in Grenoble on October 15, 2026, with his unmistakable blufunk — a blend of taut funk, blues and soul carried by a percussive guitar that serves as both rhythm and drums. Born in Nigeria and raised in England, he honed his style in the streets and clubs of London before breaking through in 1992 with Blufunk Is a Fact. Since then he has carved out a clear line between groove and minimalism, following with African Space Craft, the jazz-tinged Liquid Sunshine, then Black Orpheus and Nigerian Wood, where he sings of memories, cities and passages.

On stage, Keziah Jones performs front and center: fingers snapping on the body, strings slapping, a voice that slips between whisper and incantation. The pieces breathe, stretch and rearrange themselves in the moment without losing their pulse. You’ll hear his signature songs and newer flashes, syncopated riffs, bare-boned breaks, and that way of establishing a groove that belongs as much to the body as to the melody. A concert conceived for intimacy and energy, where every variation becomes a counter-melody and every silence a support — just enough to let the guitar and the breath speak.
