Dardust

Dardust, the instrumental project of Italian composer Dario Faini, blends contemporary piano, neoclassical and electronic elements with a writing style built on concise motifs and repetitive progressions. His pieces move between ambient textures, gritty synths and more pronounced pulses, somewhere between chamber music, instrumental pop and an imaginary soundtrack. At the New Morning in Paris on 26 May 2026, he presents a live performance conceived as a dialogue between music and space, where piano and electronics answer one another in a precise, immersive format. The repertoire draws on his albums 7, Birth, S.A.D. Storm and Drugs, Duality and Urban Impressionism for a journey that alternates contemplative passages, rhythmic tension and cinematic soundscapes. Also known in Italian pop under the acronym DRD, Faini transfers his songwriter-producer codes to an instrumental scene that is at once accessible and demanding. On stage, the playing remains restrained, the dynamics evolve gradually, and the balance between melody and texture sustains the concert from start to finish.
