Lou Trotignon « Mérou »

Lou Trotignon returns with Mérou, a solo show that recounts their transition with direct, precise humor. Lou starts from a simple, stubborn observation: a gender was assigned to them, and they disagree. On stage, they lay out their journey—from beginning testosterone treatment to moments of darkness and celebration, from striptease to the discovery of queer communities. It speaks of bodies we inhabit and shape, of desire, of love, and of the possibility of rewriting one’s story. Between stand-up, intimate narrative, and performative gestures, Mérou puts clear words to questions many people ask, without posturing or detour.

On June 18, 2026 at La Scala, Paris, Lou turns the evening into an exhibition-performance: before entering the auditorium, an immersive exhibition, conceived with the Centre d’archives LGBTQI Paris, leads you through archives, voices, images, and fragments of struggles, like a living memory in motion. Then the stage takes over, preceded by performances from cabaret artists of Maison Furieuse, to dive into Mérou with the energy of the collective. The scenic route is conceived as a crossing, between transmission and the present, where Lou Trotignon puts their story on stage to open up the field of possibilities.
