Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox presents The Future Is Vintage Tour at the Rockhal, Esch‑sur‑Alzette, on May 5, 2026. Born online and grown into a collective with a fluid lineup, PMJ delights in recoding pop, hip‑hop and R&B into period styles. On the program are reinterpretations in jazz‑swing, ragtime, doo‑wop, retro soul and big‑band idioms, conceived as faux standards from the 1920s to the 1960s. On stage the troupe alternates singers and instrumentalists, with a focus on acoustic texture, tight harmonies and brass riffs, all anchored by a piano that leads the performance. Each song slips into another era without losing its original chorus, in a sequence tailored for live shows.
At the helm is pianist and arranger Scott Bradlee, native to New York, who orchestrates these transformations with a precise sense of jazz harmony and vintage codes. His idea is to shift contemporary hits into older formats, somewhere between cabaret and ballroom, playing on timbre, swing and narrative. The show features a rotating cast of guest singers, each bringing their own color and technique, for a concert that draws on pop culture while viewing it through the prism of the past.
