White Denim

White Denim will play in Barcelona on 18 September 2026 at Sala Upload. Formed in Austin in 2006, the project led by James Petralli alongside Steve Terebecki began as a power trio and gradually honed a distinctive language that blends garage, psychedelia, blues, soul, jazz fusion, punk and echoes of progressive rock. Their hallmark is controlled improvisation, structural turns and a handcrafted approach to songwriting. From their early EPs to Workout Holiday, Exposion and Fits, the band established a nervous, changeable pulse; with D and Corsicana Lemonade they widened their spectrum without losing their taste for experimentation. Later came Stiff, Performance and Side Effects—recorded in and around Austin’s Radio Milk studio—and the recent momentum of World as a Waiting Room, the collaboration with Raze Regal in 2023, and 12 in 2024. Live, they sound compact yet flexible: intertwining riffs, elastic bass and fractured drumming, leaping from bursts of garage to soul passages and psychedelic detours. Their set mixes tracks from across their catalogue while leaving room to stretch songs and reconfigure them in real time.
