Thomas Helmig

Thomas Helmig arrives in Andalusia with a live show centered on the blend of pop rock and soul he has been honing since the 1980s. A self-taught musician on piano, guitar and drums, he developed his craft among the bands of Aarhus and during an exchange in the United States that left a Motown imprint on his songwriting. His first albums in Danish established a rhythm-driven song format, and in the 1990s he entered an English-language phase with works such as Rhythm, Say When and Stupid Man. Since then he has maintained a steady discography that moves him between groove and melody: IsItYouIsItMe, El Camino, Tommy Boy, KH Helmig, Takker and the recent Sortedam.

On stage, Helmig alternates mid-tempo numbers and more electrified cuts, combining references to classic R&B with a straightforward pop foundation.
