Alborosie

On August 23, 2026 the Rocca Malatestiana in Cesena hosts Alborosie with the Shengen Clan for a live show dedicated to his roots- and dub-tinged reggae. Born in Messina as Alberto D’Ascola, Alborosie paved the way for Italian reggae abroad: from his early days with the Reggae National Tickets to his move to Kingston in the early 2000s, where he honed his production and sound-engineering skills. That journey produced records that defined his songwriting and studio approach, blending Jamaican roots with a sound-system attitude: Soul Pirate, Escape from Babylon, 2 Times Revolution, as well as various singles and collaborations.

On stage with him is the Shengen Clan, a seasoned band that gives body to his songs: a stripped-back, driving rhythm section, precise horns, dub passages, and a direction that holds together classics and more recent tracks. The set is crafted for live performance, with call-and-response, extended versions and dynamics that push the group without frills, delivering Alborosie’s sound in its most direct form.
