Modern Nature a Barcelona

Modern Nature arrive in Barcelona on 14 April 2026 at VOL to present The Heat Warps, the new chapter in Jack Cooper's project. After No Fixed Point in Space, the group takes a step toward a more structured and direct language, with the addition of guitarist Tara Cunningham giving the ensemble an electric, clear push. Born in London out of Ultimate Painting, Modern Nature have moved from a minimalist rock framework toward more acoustic, collective forms; today they combine motorik pulse, repetitive patterns and organic textures with songwriting that seeks space and precision.

Around Cooper, the lineup changes from moment to moment, but the through line is the same: songs that breathe, flexible percussion, and developments that open the door to improvisation without losing melodic focus. The Heat Warps reflects a creative, vital awakening, tackles social and collective themes with a clear tone, and points to a compact band that finds a balance between tension and fluidity. On stage, this new material unfolds with contained energy and a cohesion that foregrounds the dialogue between guitars, rhythms and silences, charting its own course between chamber folk-jazz and the echo of krautrock.
