Love Shop

On April 17, 2026, Love Shop plays TRAIN in Aarhus, bringing their blend of guitar-driven pop and shadowy new wave tones to the stage. Formed in Copenhagen at the end of the 80s, the band shaped a distinct Danish pop-rock voice: melodic hooks, electric textures and lyrics in Danish that look straight at city life, relationships and a certain low-key melancholy.

The group’s early momentum grew around singer-writer Jens Unmack, guitarist-producer Hilmer Hassig and harmonica player Henrik Hall, a trio that cut its teeth in clubs and festivals across Denmark. Across a run of key releases — 1990, DK, Billeder af verden, Det eneste der duer, Go! and the 1998 self-titled album — Love Shop sharpened a songwriting approach that balanced immediacy with bite. Anti (2001) and National (2003) closed a first chapter before the project paused.

Following the losses of Hassig (2008) and Hall (2011), Love Shop re-emerged with Unmack at the center, picking up the thread on Frelsens hær (2010) and Skandinavisk lyst (2012). On stage in Aarhus, expect a set that moves freely across decades, where clean-lined melodies, chiming guitars and direct, image-rich phrasing carry songs from the early 90s to the present.
