Veronica Mortensen

On March 27, 2026 at Teaterbygningen, Veronica Mortensen brings a vocal jazz that bridges songwriting clarity and improvisation. Raised between Greece and Denmark by musician parents, she shaped her ear in soul bands, big band settings and experimental projects before finding her own path as a writer and singer. Across albums from Pieces in a Puzzle to Catching Waves and Presents Passed, and on stage with Aarhus Jazz Orchestra, Athens Big Band or Bohuslän Big Band, she has honed a warm timbre, unhurried phrasing and a taste for melodies that leave space for the words.

Her recent journeys with bassist Peter Vuust and a live chapter with Mads Vinding sketch a Nordic, acoustic feel that suits intimate rooms as well as larger ensembles. In Køge, she draws on originals and carefully chosen standards, balancing grounded grooves, lyrically focused ballads and flexible arrangements that open to the moment.
