Francis Rossi

Francis Rossi, co-founder, voice and guitar of Status Quo, steps out under his own name for a set rooted in the boogie pulse that shaped his writing and stage craft. From the first spark of Pictures of Matchstick Men to the driving swing of Down Down and Whatever You Want, his partnership with lyricist Bob Young forged songs built on steady grooves, blues edges and unfussy riffs made for live rooms. Beyond the stadium years and the Live Aid opener, Rossi has also shown a more melodic, reflective side with his solo album One Step at a Time, and revisited his catalogue in the stripped-back Aquostic projects.

In Copenhagen, he brings decades of songwriting and guitar work into focus, reconnecting with pieces from across the Quo canon and his solo path. The format is straightforward: songs up front, stories in the strings, and that no-frills drive that has carried him from club circuits to festival fields.
