Sort Sol

On 14 May 2026 at Det Kongelige Teater in Copenhagen, Sort Sol take the stage with the distinct mix that has defined them since their Sods days. Born in late‑70s Copenhagen punk, the band shifted from raw abrasion to a more exploratory rock, keeping the pulse of post-punk and cold wave while opening up to shadowy atmospheres and pared-back melodies. Steen Jørgensen’s deep, detached voice leads the line, with long-time partners Knud Odde and Tomas Ortved shaping a sound that moves between tension and clarity.

Across albums from Minutes to Go and Under en sort sol through Dagger & Guitar and Everything That Rises Must Converge, the group pushed a minimal language toward richer textures. The 90s widened the frame with Flow My Firetear, Glamourpuss and Unspoiled Monsters, before the sharper turn of Snakecharmer. After a long pause, the 2017 release Stor Langsom Stjerne marked a return to writing that balances atmosphere, noise edges and melody. On stage, that arc translates into tight dynamics, slow burns and songs that linger.
