An Acoustic Evening with Trey Anastasio

Trey Anastasio brings his solo acoustic show to Massey Hall in Toronto on June 19, 2026. Guitarist, singer and composer best known as the frontman of Phish, he forged his style in Burlington in the 1980s, blending psychedelic rock, long-form improvisation and touches of jazz and funk. In parallel, his solo path has ranged from tight power trios to the Trey Anastasio Band with horns, opening his writing to soul, groove and more structured arrangements. He has also arranged pieces for symphony orchestras and co-written a Broadway score, broadening the palette without losing the thread of songcraft and improvisation.

In this acoustic format, everything narrows to voice, guitar and the core of the melodies. Anastasio revisits Phish staples and solo cuts, reshaping them with alternate voicings, fingerpicked patterns and unhurried detours that leave room for the moment.
