Elvis Costello

Elvis Costello will perform on 8 July 2026 at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. Since My Aim Is True (1977) he has been writing songs with a nervy drive in which rock, pop and punk intersect; in the late 1970s he and The Attractions made their mark on the new wave with records such as This Year’s Model and Armed Forces. He then expanded his boundaries: soul and country on Almost Blue, richer pop on Imperial Bedroom, chamber music with the Brodsky Quartet (The Juliet Letters), co‑written songs with Burt Bacharach (Painted from Memory) and a collaboration with Allen Toussaint (The River in Reverse).

On stage Costello draws from an extensive catalogue and moves effortlessly between fiery uptempo numbers and quiet ballads, leaving room for stories and unexpected turns. Guitar, piano, sometimes a touch of orchestral colour or jazz; always that sharp pen and a voice that can whisper or bite. Expect a set that brings decades of music together and demonstrates how his songwriting remains in motion.
