Whitechapel

Whitechapel arrives at La Rayonne in Villeurbanne on 7 February 2027. Formed in Knoxville in 2006, the band brings together Phil Bozeman on vocals, the three-guitar lineup of Ben Savage, Zach Householder and Alex Wade, Gabe Crisp on bass and Brandon Zackey on drums. On stage, the sextet tightens its performance around Hymns in Dissonance, conceived as a dark echo of This Is Exile. The concept follows a cult and its hymns, each track embodying a deadly sin, between razor-sharp riffs and oppressive atmospheres.

Written at Householder's studio and self-produced, the album adopts a direct writing approach where dissonance takes the lead, with nods to the death, black and speed roots that shaped the band. Recent singles 'A Visceral Retch' and 'Hymns in Dissonance' set the scene: density, abrupt ruptures, a menacing groove and a few measured melodic breaths. Known for their three-guitar assault and a rollercoaster sense of sequencing, Whitechapel hints that they might play the album straight through. A narrative set, tense and precise, where technique serves impact and where the story imagined by Bozeman unfolds without digression.
