Son Mieux

On 27 June 2026 Son Mieux is scheduled to perform at Caprera in Bloemendaal. The Hague-based band led by singer-songwriter Camiel Meiresonne began as an indie-pop project and has grown into a broader collective. Their sound leans toward orchestral, alternative pop: guitars and keyboards alongside strings and a tight rhythm section, with sing-along choir parts that carry the choruses. Songs often build steadily toward a full finale, leaving room for dynamics and group vocals.

From their early, indie-oriented EPs Son Mieux shifted to a more open, danceable approach, fueled by disco, folk and contemporary pop. Albums such as Faire de Son Mieux (2019) and The Mustard Seed (2021) mark that development while keeping the focus on melody and the band as a unit. Live, the band presents itself as a multi-voiced ensemble that emphasizes interplay, rich arrangements and direct contact with the audience, both in clubs and at festivals. The lyrics remain personal and everyday, fitting the lighter, rhythmic direction and preserving the group’s indie roots.
