June 30, 2026 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa, 54-40 brings four decades of Vancouver rock to the stage. Formed in 1980 around Neil Osborne and Brad Merritt, the group moved from early post‑punk and new wave toward a melodic alternative sound built on clear guitars and direct refrains. From Set the Fire to Dear Dear, Smilin’ Buddha Cabaret and Casual Viewin’, the catalogue traces that path. With guitarist and keyboardist Dave Genn in the lineup, the band continues to explore a contemporary rock register anchored in songcraft and a reflective tone.
Also on the bill, Sass Jordan arrives with a mix of hard rock and blues roots shaped in Montréal after beginnings in Birmingham. Revealed by Tell Somebody, then Racine and Rats, she has in recent years leaned further into the blues with Rebel Moon Blues and Bitches Blues. Live, her grainy, soul‑inflected voice meets electric guitars and steady grooves influenced by 60s and 70s rhythm and blues.
