The Hillbilly Moonshiners

The Hillbilly Moonshiners play on 18 December 2026 at Metropool in Hengelo. This six-piece Dutch band has, since 2014, been bringing rock classics and recent pop songs into an acoustic setting with a bluegrass and country twist. Think Blink-182, Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson and AC/DC, but just as easily Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Drake: recognizable hooks remain intact while the arrangements shift toward Americana, with tight harmonies and a laid-back groove. The band started out in pubs and at festivals at home, then went on to tour the UK, Spain, France, Hungary, Slovakia, Germany and Belgium. Along the way they’ve performed at Paaspop, Zwarte Cross and Concert at Sea, appeared at Sziget and Veszprém, and shared bills with the likes of Dropkick Murphys, Kasabian, Kensington and Suzan & Freek. Live, it’s all about the joy of familiar songs in a different guise: rhythm for your feet, melodies for your voice, and plenty of room to sing along without losing momentum.
