Hotel Lux - 2026

On 19 March 2026 at the Jaki in Cologne, Hotel Lux will present their mix of post-punk, spoken-word and social observation on stage. The band comes from Portsmouth, is based in London and has been working since 2017 with angular riffs, a dry, narrative vocal delivery and lyrics that probe everyday life in British cities. Early tracks like “The Last Hangman” or “English Disease” set the tone: tension in the guitars, a narrative perspective and precise rhythms.

With the debut album Hands Across the Creek (2023) the group honed its signature sound; The Bitter Cup (2025) develops it further. Themes such as gentrification, class relations and political friction remain central and also shape the live set. On stage the band moves between spoken-word delivery, tight grooves and concise hooks, preserves the rough edges and puts the lyrics front and center. No ornamentation, little pathos—rather timing and directness: a performance that gets Hotel Lux’s stories straight to the point.
