Info

Mariposa Folk Festival brings a broad slice of folk and roots to Tudhope Park, Orillia, on July 4, 2026. Leith Ross carves out a quiet space with soft-voiced songs and stripped-back arrangements, writing candidly about identity, consent and the tender edges of relationships. From Bristol, The Longest Johns keep the pulse of sea shanties alive, blending tight harmonies, simple percussion and new tales drawn from life at sea.

Taj Mahal, singer and multi-instrumentalist, threads blues with folk, early jazz and Caribbean influences, moving with ease from front-porch sway to road-worn grooves. Montreal’s The Barr Brothers weave fingerpicked guitars, detailed drums and atmospheric textures, a folk that leans into trance and storytelling. Great Lake Swimmers work with space and echo, slow tempos and hushed melodies led by Tony Dekker’s voice. Yukon Blonde brings hook-forward indie rock shaded with psych and synth hues. And Sarah Harmer delivers clear, grounded songwriting that shifts from intimate acoustic moods to a more electric bite, rooted in lived landscapes and plainspoken detail.
